He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Powell and Verna Melvin Powell; and his brothers, Amos Powell Jr., Artis Powell and William Powell.
He is survived by: his daughter Thomasina Lee of Pikeville; the mother of his child Cynthia McCullen Powell of Goldsboro; his siblings, Calvin Powell, Carlos Powell, Michael Powell and Vernice Vance (LaFayette); his grandchildren, Thomasina Lee Pryor (Timothy) and Kimberly Lee; and his great grandchildren, Malayaa Coley, Jaila Pryor, Braylen Suggs and Jaida Pryor.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Howell Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel (1500 Wayne Memorial Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27534). A celebration of life was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
