She is survived by: her children, Kenneth, Sr. (Melba) of District Heights, MD, Galen (Sunnie) of Fayetteville, GA and Tina Lee (Raymond) of Burlington, NJ.; her grandchildren, Kenneth Newsome Jr. (Damitra), Jaleesa Newsome, Ciarra Lee, Brandon Lee, Jordan Lee and Sarah Butler; her great grandchild Kaycie Newsome; and her brother-in-law David Newsome, Jr. (Ruby) of Goldsboro, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Allen Chapel AME Church (2498 Alabama Ave SE, Washington, DC 20020). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM and on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM. Viewing was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. James AME Zion Church (206 S George St, Goldsboro, NC 27530). A burial was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Elmwood Cemetery (900 W Brick St, Goldsboro, NC 27530).
