He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie James and Elnora Walls Core; his grandfather Jessie Core (Lester Strickland Core); and his siblings, Edna, Bettie Jean, James Ray, Herman, Thomas Junior, Edith and Swindell.
He is survived by: his children, Andrawri Core (Christine) of Roxboro, NC, Kendra Core King (Nicholas) of Durham, NC., Joewand of Dudley, NC and Felicia (Marcellus) of Spring Lake, NC.; and his siblings, Joseph Core (Carolyn) of Pikeville, NC, Douglas Core of Goldsboro, NC, Betty Coley Williams (Curtis) of Goldsboro, NC and Sarah B. Lane of Goldsboro, NC. He is also survived by daughters; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel (1215 Royall Ave, Goldsboro, NC 27534). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
