It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmy George Evans (Goldsboro, North Carolina), born in Wayne County, North Carolina, who passed away on September 1, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Evans and Mattie Forehand Evans; and his wife Peggy Bartlett Evans. He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Edwards (Donnie) of Goldsboro, Kim Trent of Pikeville and Sarah Sasser (Brian) of Fremont; his siblings, Mattie Coor of Goldsboro, Pattie Smith of LaGrange and Johnny Evans (Frances) of Faro; and his grandchildren, Darian Nash (Rich), Evan Trent (Breanna), Hope Trent, Jacob Edwards, Johnathan Sasser and Karley Stith (Andrew). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in his memory to Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
