He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Stephen Holmes and Selma Moye Holmes; his wife Edna Parrish Holmes; his daughters, Cynthia Warters and Rita Daniels; and his brothers, Lee Holmes and Durwood Holmes.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Holmes (Beth), Ronald Parrish (Faye), Douglas Parrish, Jacqueline Howell, Darrell Pennington (Catherine) and Tyla Aycock (Stephen); and his sister Johnnie Maher. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
