He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Blount Modlin, Sr. and Mary Catherine Woolard Modlin; and his brother William "Bill" Woolard Modlin. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Smith "Bunny" Modlin; his children, Jeffrey Knowles Modlin (Bridget), Bryan Ives Modlin (Sandy), Tammy Smith Wallace (Terry) and Courtney Renee Smith; his siblings, Roland Blount Modlin Jr. (Debbie) and Susan Swan Modlin; and his grandchildren, Damian Modlin, Pryce Modlin, Tolen Pacheco, Caleb Modlin, Joshua Wallace (Riley), Abigail Wallace and Hannah Wallace. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
