He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Clifford Owens Sr. and Sarah Burley Owens; his wife Betty Bostic Owens; and his daughter Cyndi Owens Acree. He is survived by: his son James Richard Owens (Rebecca) of Asheboro, NC; his son-in-law Mike Acree of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Lisa Owens Callicutt (Phil) of Asheboro, NC, Kevin Acree (Brittany) of LaGrange, NC and Erin Fonseca (Felipe) of Goldsboro; his great grandchildren, Sara, Austin Callicutt, Harper, Hampton Acree, John Owen, William and Evelyn Fonseca; his brother Dr. Harold Owens (Evelyn); and his nieces, Melissa Owens Langston and Allison Owens Buckner.
