He was predeceased by: his father Jon Wayne Barnes, Sr.; and his brother Jon Wayne Barnes, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Mary Woodley Barnes of Creswell, NC; his wife Lynne Hopkins Barnes of Goldsboro, NC; his daughter Myra Barnes Thompson (Todd) of Greenville, NC; and his pets, Spencer, Hudson and Murphy.
