With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eugene Howard Carter Sr. (Goldsboro, North Carolina), born in Adel, Georgia, who passed away on August 6, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcus William and Roberta Cannon Carter; his son John P. Carter; and his siblings, Lenora, Mildred and Raymond.
He is survived by: his wife Maria J. Carter; his children, Rhonda Carol Hutto, Eugene H. Carter, II and Marie Jernigan (Chet Jernigan); his daughter-in-law Sofie Carter; his grandchildren, Lyle Carter, Jessica Thomas and Marissa Hutto; his great grandchildren, Claire Thomas and Ava Thomas; and his siblings, Patricia Carter, Bonita Sellars and Brinson Carter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
