She is survived by: her daughters, Gilda Hope James Monterone of Goldsboro, Eleanor Dianne James Pierce of Goldsboro, Wanda Kay James Bragg (Ronnie) of Goldsboro and Celia Gayle James Gwaltney (Wayne) of Goldsboro; her stepdaughter Janet Lee Butts Allen of Wilmington; her sons, Jesse Berry James, Jr. of Goldsboro and Earlton Ray Lucas (Vonn); and her stepsons, Henry Dwight "Hankie" Butts, Jr. of Wilson and Joseph Chong "Joe" Butts of Wilson. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren.
