She was predeceased by: her parents, John Nathan Gregory and Laura Mae Casey Gregory; her husband Bruce Sherrill Herring; her siblings, Nathan Gregory, Charles Gregory, Maurice Gregory, Betty Rigsbee, Frances Coker and Jane Gregory; her grandson Christopher Hunter Bennett; and her stepson Jeffrey Herring.
She is survived by: her children, Cornelius Wayne Smith, Chadwick Bryan Smith and Jennifer Horne Brown (Troy); her siblings, William Gregory (Hilda), John Gregory (Rose), Paul Gregory, Terry Gregory, Peggy Daniels (Roy), Hilda Hodnett, Patsy Hanegan and Janice Sessoms; her grandchildren, Aaron Denning, Jared Smith, Tronyae Smith, MaKenzie Smith, Destiny Mitchell and Nicholas Bennett; her great grandchild Kenley Boyle; her boyfriend William Michael Herring; her stepson Steven Herring; and her close friends, Laura Napier and Kiara Rawls.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Davis Family Cemetery (2818 McLain St, Goldsboro, NC 27530).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
