He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Womble and Lelar Davis Womble; his wife Julie Blackmon Womble; his son Benny Jay "Ben" Womble; and his siblings, James, Frank, Billy Womble, Alice Davis, Vernell Butler and Nettie Tighe.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Womble Smith (Kenneth) of Pikeville and Tracy Womble Price (Jerry) of Lynchburg, VA; his grandchildren, Jason Smith, Brantley Smith, Connor Price, Miranda Price and Chelsea Billings; his great grandchildren, Dalton Smith, Kayleigh Smith of Tatum Smith, C. J and Evie Price; his niece Linda Petras; and his close friends, Melanie Tripp, Charlie Van Hoy, Jimmy Rowe and Susan James.
