It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ernest Ray Hoffner of Gold Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on February 24, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Hoffner and Lena Owens Hoffner; his former wife Neola Rogers Hoffner; and his siblings, Curtis "Bud" Hoffner, Mary Jane Ward, Johnnie Earnhardt, Jean Brown, Velna Carrick, Arlene Morgan, Annie Hall and Blanche Gobble.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Eller Hoffner; his daughter Amy Hoffner Shaver (Tim) of Salisbury; his grandson Adam Shaver (Donna) of Salisbury; his great grandchildren, Taryn and Aubrey Shaver; his stepsons, Stanley Stiller (Priscilla) and Mark Stiller (Cristy); his stepgrandchildren, Justin Stiller and Kristin Stiller; his sisters, Edna Mahaley (Al) of Kernersville and Helen "Sis" Stiller of Salisbury; and his siblings-in-law, Peggy Hoffner, Elva Huneycutt and John Eller. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Sanctuary Renovation Fund, 9275 Bringle Ferry Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146.
