She was predeceased by: her parents, Dick Coats and Sara Mae Coats; her former husband James A. Jackson; her husband Vernon Parnell; and her sister Dixie Goode.
She is survived by: her daughters, Gwen Woodard (Darrell) of Dunn and Sara Godwin of Dunn; her sisters, Barbara Watson of Banner Elk and Kay Latham of Godwin; her granddaughter Zoey Godwin; and her nephews, Brad and Derek Watson.
