He is survived by : his wife Dixie McLamb Burgette; his daughter Melissa Burgette Burton; his son-in-law Jeff Burton of Turkey, NC; his grandchildren, Dillon Eason, Sierra Jones, Nicholas Burton, Kalyn Burton, Abby Burton, Ashlyn Burton, Jeffery Burton, Jr. and Carsen Snell; and his sisters, Mary Catherine Gregory and Hilda Faye Carter.
