It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joy Young Parnell of Godwin, North Carolina, born in Cumberland, North Carolina, who passed away on April 4, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marshall Ransom and Bessie Mae Matthews Young; and her brother David Marshall Young. She is survived by: her husband Joe Harold Parnell; her children, Kim Parnell Lafferty (Rob) of Pipersville, Pennsylvania, Brian Christopher Parnell (Karla) of Godwin and Lisa Parnell Baucom (Matt) of Marshville; her grandchildren, Sydney, Samantha, Sawyer Lafferty, Eli, Liam Parnell, Ava, Caleb and Anna Baucom; her sister Sybil Wilson of Fayetteville; and her sister-in-law Gloria Young Williams (Clifford) of Godwin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
