With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Jerry Eugene Sykes of Godwin, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Donald Sykes of Louisville, Kentucky, Charles Sykes of Mt. Olive and Ruth Owen (Clarence) of Fayetteville; and his parents, Marion Hassell Sykes and Vannie Holland Sykes.
He is survived by: his wife Judy; his daughters, Amanda Autry (Rufus) of Godwin and Allison Perez (Richard) of Valrico, Florida; his grandchildren, Emily Pruett (Joshua) of Spivey's Corner, Jeffrey Autry of Godwin, Susanna, Samuel and Vanessa Perez of Valrico; his great grandchildren, Graham and Silas Pruett of Spivey's Corner; his brother Kenneth Sykes (Claire) of Eastover; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Sykes of Mt. Olive and Rose Hicks of Brandenburg. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Godwin Presbyterian Church. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Jerry's girls ask memorials be made to Godwin Presbyterian Church - PO Box 116, Godwin, NC 28344.
