With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Billy Gerald Peterson of Godwin, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 24, 2025 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parents, Corvie Peterson and Sarah Catherine Faircloth Peterson; and his great grandchild Johnna Claire Barefoot. He is survived by: his wife Susan Ezzell Peterson; his children, Michael Peterson of Godwin, Marcus Peterson (Lisa) of Godwin, Marjorie P. Barefoot (John Q.) of Benson and Melody P. Williams (Anthony) of Dunn; his sister Janice Peterson of Godwin; his grandchildren, Johnathon Barefoot (Corie), Madeline Baker (Earley), Austin Peterson (Maegan), Abbey Barefoot, Mikayla Peterson, Allen Peterson, Gracie Williams and Eryn Williams; and his great grandchildren, Calan Barefoot, Waylon Peterson and Braxton Baker.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Baptist Chapel Church (2208 Baptist Chapel Rd, Autryville, NC 28318). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
