She was predeceased by : her parents, Carl Timothy Peak, Sr. and Agnes Lorain Peak; her son Edward Stanton Clark, Jr.; and her sister Carla Sue Wheeler. She is survived by : her husband Roy Carter; her children, Timothy Mitchell Clark and Tina Lynn Clark; and her siblings, Carl Timothy Peak, Jr. (Carrol) and Judith Ann Norris (John). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 6th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Butler Funeral Home (6535 Clinton Rd, Stedman, NC 28391). A graveside service was held on Thursday, June 6th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Cumberland Memorial Gardens (4509 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304).
