It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Emma Marlowe Norton of Glenwood, North Carolina, who passed away on May 9, 2022, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Lee and Dorothy Haynes Marlowe; her husband Ellis Norton; and her siblings, Lela McCall, Dessie Mae Lawing, Rebecca Bristol, J. O., Lawrence, Tom, Monroe, Grayson and Grover Lee Marlowe.
She is survived by: her children, Garland Norton (Libbie) of Old Fort and Mary Kirstein (Dean) of Chattanooga, TN; her grandchildren, Matthew Kirstein (Christina) and Victoria Kirstein; her great grandchildren, Hannah and Emily Kirstein; and her close friend Linda Good. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
