With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ray Merrill Jr. of Glen Alpine, North Carolina, born in Morganton, North Carolina, who passed away on August 14, 2020 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Ray Merrill and Dorothy "Jean" Merrill; and his sister Patsy Lavonda Merrill. He is survived by: his son James Ray "Jay" Merrill (Kelly); his siblings, Susan M. Abernathy (Tim) and Kenneth Merrill (Kathy); his nephew Pat Abernathy; and his great-nephew Gabe.
