It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Huel Thompson (Glen Alpine, North Carolina), born in Cherokee, North Carolina, who passed away on August 2, 2018, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Columbus Stephenson Thompson; his wife Frankie Massey Thompson; and his siblings, Ruth Brown, Willis Thompson, Otis Thompson and Obrea Thompson.
He is survived by: his parent Bertha Greene Thompson; his daughters, Cindy Van Donsel (Jon) of Mars Hill, NC and Debra McPeters of Glen Alpine; his grandchildren, Michelle, Danielle, Sarah, Sabrina and John; and his sisters, Arzella Clark of Morganton and Ira Mae Moss of Murphy, NC. He is also survived by husband, father, and grandfather.
