It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Jane McCarthy of Glade Valley, North Carolina, who passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Caswell McCann and Nannie McCann; her daughter Susan Billings; and her brothers, Herbert McCann and Alex Woodruff.
She is survived by: her husband Timothy McCarthy; her daughter Dawn Halsey (Ronnie); her grandchildren, Timothy Mimbs, Candice Wagner (Ken), Alyssa Royall (Trey), Charles Mimbs, Sarah Atwood (Dylan), Jessica Nichols, Roger Halsey (Megan) and Dusty Halsey (Madison); her great grandchildren, Jaxon, Jazalyn, Kaylie, Caleb, Mickey, Alice, Aiden, Archie, Maggie, Rhett, Reaghan, Colton, Cooper and Mollie; her sister Lib Nester; and her pet Simon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
