It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elder Gilbert Lane Lyon of Glade Valley, North Carolina, who passed away on June 17, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Grover Watson and Janie Royal Lyon; and his wife Anna Irene Choate Lyon. He is survived by : his children, Greg Lyon (Karen) of Ennice, Debby Edwards (Ronald Jack) of Sparta and Darla Sturgill of Sparta; and his grandchildren, Holly Savage (Chris) of Glade Valley, Joey Lyon (Megan) of Ennice and Sam McClure (Hope) of Glade Valley. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cherry Lane Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Darla Sturgill, 1114 Bledsoe Creek Road, Sparta, NC 28675 or Solid Rock Food Closet, 71 Womble Street, Sparta, NC 28675.
