He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyda Faircloth Dickerson Saunders and Jesse Ben Dickerson; his wife Esther; his stepfather Richard "Dick" Saunders; his siblings, Jesse "Sarge" Ben Dickerson, Robert Maurice Dickerson and Carol Joan Dickerson Jones; and his son-in-law John Gregory Howard.
He is survived by: his sister Judith "Judy" Saunders Chaney (Grover); his daughters, Donna Howard and Clyda Johnson (David); his grandsons, David Michael (Jenn) and Richard "Rick" (Megan); and his great grandchildren, Chase (Kaylee), Skylar (Scott), Maciee, Adam and Taylor.
Richard was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville, until COVID sent everyone home in 2020.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of our dad.
