She was predeceased by: her daughter Kathy Snyder; her husband Thomas Leo Ray; her parents, Coy Odies and Elma Thompson Surles; and her siblings, Helen Summerlin, Esther Godwin, Rowland and George Surles.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Allen (Wayne) of Little River, SC and Bobby G. Ray (Lib Craven) of Thomasville. She is also survived by six grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
