It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edgar Cowen of Gibsonville, North Carolina, born in Opp, Alabama, who passed away on May 25, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Reginald D. Cowen and Eunice Pearl Stephenson Stallings; his siblings, Ted Cowen and Mary Anne Donaldson; his son-in-law David Johnston; and his grandson John "Buddy" Young.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Berry Cowen; his children, Mike Cowen (Tammy) of Kingwood, TX, Greg Cowen (Dori) of Pittsboro, NC, Tim Armstrong (Mary) of Mebane, NC, Phillip Armstrong of Fuquay Varina, NC, Dana Johnston of Summerville, SC and Gina Cobbler (Lee) of Greensboro, NC; his grandchildren, Brittany Morgan (Josh), Blaine Cowen, Kimberly Williams (Trenton), Brittany Johnston, April Smith, Nicholas Armstrong, Ryan Young, Dana Kraatz (Curtis), Lauren Cobbler and Lexi Cobbler; and his brother James Thomas "Tom" Cowen (Rachel). He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
