He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hawkins and Alice Owens Hawkins; and his siblings, Donnell Hawkins, Randy Hawkins, Geraldine Tinsley and Carolyn Hawkins.

He is survived by: his daughters, Victoria Antoinette Benton of Graham and Kailah Nicole Hawkins of Greensboro; his siblings, Ronnie Hawkins (Shelia), Elmore Hawkins (Darlene) of Gibsonville and Brenda Anderson (Ralph) of Tampa, Florida; and his grandchild Karson Brown.
