He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Fred Rushing, Sr. and Ruth Goodwin Rushing. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Paul Rushing; his children, James Michael Rushing (Desiray) of Cheraw, SC and Sommer Lynn Rushing Martin (Chris Martin) of Hamlet; his grandchildren, Anastasia, Arcadia, Alexandria, Isaiah, Lydia and Julia; and his sister Jane Teal of Gibson.
