He was predeceased by: his father Leroy Smith, Sr.; his daughter Dawn Smith; and his brother Leroy Smith, Jr. (During). He is survived by: his wife Donna Smith; his brother W. D. Smith; his grandson Rudger Norfolk (Christy); and his great grandchild Emery Norfolk. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stoney Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, in honor of Joseph.
