He is survived by: his wife Shelia Collins; his daughters, Annetta "Renee" Smith-Boyd (Darron) and Natalie Smith-Griffie (Jonathan); his sisters, Winnie Carter, Rita Dail and Shirley Williams; and his in-laws, Joyce Dorsey (Norman Dorsey), Marian Stallings (late Dennis J. Stallings), Rev. James S. Collins (Francis Collins) and Johnny Ray Collins (Judy Collins).
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the New Middle Swamp Missionary Baptist Church (2 Middle Swamp Rd, Corapeake, NC 27926). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the New Middle Swamp Church (2 Middle Swamp Rd, Corapeake, NC 27926).
