He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Glenwood Newsome and Rosadel James Welch. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Parker Plyler Newsome; his daughters, Deedra N. White (Alan) of Fishersville, VA, Dana N. Hardin (Mike) of Conway and Denise N. Edwards (Tony) of Margarettsville; his siblings, Pansy Fowler of Hamlet, Barbara Moody of Clayton, Durwood Newsome of Mechanicsville, VA and Keith Newsome of Roanoke Rapids; his stepsister Doris Jewett of Richmond, VA.; and his stepchildren, Deborah P. Duck (David) of Gatesville and Tim Plyler (Beverly) of Gatesville.
