He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Eugene and Ozeal Bunch Hollowell; and his wife Delores Anne Fulcher Hollowell. He is survived by: his sons, Joseph E. "Gene" Hollowell, Jr. (Rhonda) of Franklinton and Jason Lee Hollowell of Durham; and his grandchildren, Parker, Spencer, Carter and Charlotte Hollowell.
