She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Colander and Eva Colander; her adoptive parents, Theodore Ricks and Estelle Ricks; and her siblings, Margaret Ricks (Sister), Melvin Colander Jr. and Jerry Colander (Brother).
She is survived by: her husband Henry F. Aliff; her children, Colette R. King, Ian C. Green, Stacey C. Green, Chelsea N. Hopewell and Woodson D. Hopewell, III; her siblings, Nicky Ricks and Jeffrey Bennett; and her grandchildren, Tierra Carter-Green, Cameron Carter-Green, Jorydn Carter-Green, Desmond Green, Dorian Green, Malakai Green, Austin King and Alexis Stroud. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Calendar Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. (900 E Washington St, Suffolk, VA 23434). Viewing was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Calendar Eaton's Temple Holiness Church (970 Drum Hill Rd, Gates, NC 27937). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at the same location.
