He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Eugene Richards and Ada Crouse Richards; his wife Annie Bell Richards; his daughter Sharon Denise Brewer; and his siblings, William "Bill" Richards, Baxter C. Richards, Joe H. Richards, Fred "Doc" Richards, Ovalene Richards and Betty E. Richards.

He is survived by: his children, Gail Burch (Bryan Holland) and Darryl Eugene Richards. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
