He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Bonnell and Mabel Bonnell. He is survived by: his wife Gaye Horton Bonnell; his son Charles; his daughter-in-law Francoise; his grandsons, William and Benjamin; and his sisters, Joyce Winebrenner and Janet Hollingsworth. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
