She was predeceased by: her parents, Allie Barnes (McCarter) and William Barnes; her husband Melvin LeRoy Hunsinger, Jr.; and her daughter Robyn Hill. She is survived by: her family, Chicken Casserole, Oyster Stew and Chocolate Cake; her sister-in-law Claudia Barnes; her children, Kim Tuttle, Scott Hunsinger (Margaret) and Melvin Hunsinger III; her grandchildren, Allie Hunsinger, Timothy Lewis and James Tuttle; and her brother Lanny Barnes, Sr..

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in Willena's name to Sharon UMC, 2030 Holden Beach Road SW, Supply, NC 28462.
