With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Ruth Smith (Gastonia, North Carolina), born in Passaic, New Jersey, who passed away on May 26, 2019 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Angelo Fascella and Stella Rzegota Fascella; and her husband Jerry Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Laura Patterson (Jim), Angela King and Jennifer Brock; her brother Dennis Fascella (Audrey); her grandchildren, Matt Patterson (Catherine), Breanna Patterson (Tanner), Paul Brock, Ben King and Pesamino Brock; her great grandchild Jaxon Patterson; her nieces and nephews, Suzie Smith, Lisa Faulk and Dennis Fascella Jr.; and her close friends, Rosie and Bill Jory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice – (The Robin Johnson House) PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
