We bid farewell to Stella Elizabeth Phillips of Gastonia, North Carolina, born in Lowell, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 8, 2025 at the age of 88. Stella Elizabeth touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Baxter Gene Phillips Sr.; her father Grover Odell (Clara Ray); her brothers, James Ray and Cecil Ray; and her friend Inez Rhyne.
She is survived by: her children, Phillips (Reci), Daphene Lewallen (Randy), Sharon Bell (Richard), Sondra Short (Otis), Sandra Bell (Deris) and Monica Smith (James); her sister Mary Plemmons; and her cousin Peggy Head. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren including their spouses; 27 great grandchildren including their spouses, 7 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Greene Funeral Service South Chapel (1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
