It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stanley Carroll Sims (Gastonia, North Carolina), who passed away on April 15, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sims and Mattie Saine Sims; his son Adrian Sims; and his daughter-in-law Naoko Sims. He is survived by: his wife Edith Gettys Sims; his son Mark Sims (Karen); his brothers, Ernest Sims of Forest City, NC and Robert Sims of Rutherfordton, NC; his grandchildren, Brandon Sims (Michelle), Justin Sims (Keshia), Julian Sims (Jasna) and Sara Martinez (Luis); his great grandchildren, Jeremiah Sims, Colton Sims and Akira Martinez; and his close friends, Raymond Biddix and Tammy Mayes.
