With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Ellis Sutton of Gastonia, North Carolina, who passed away on January 27, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Ernest Ellis; and her siblings, Robert Ellis (Jane), Helen McGee (Charles) and Ernestine Lambert (Everette). She is survived by: her husband Wilfred "Willie" Sutton; her son Steve Sutton (Amy) of Kings Mountain; her grandchildren, Chris Sutton (Miranda) of Graham, NC and Jessica Auten (Harrison) of Gastonia, NC; and her great grandchild Lyndee Jo Sutton of Graham, NC. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church Building Fund.
