She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Emmer Snider Morgan and Harley "Buck" Clifford Morgan; her husband Tom Newsom; her children, Dr. Eric Newsom (Karen) of Warrensburg, MO and Jane Newsom (Jason Reynolds) of Gastonia, NC; her sisters, Barbara Walker (John) of Gastonia, NC, Linda Haynie (Brian) of Lowell, NC, Margaret Adams of Lowell, NC and Nancy Outlaw of Dallas, NC; and her grandsons, Henry and Milo Newsom. She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and special great-nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local women's shelter.
