He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wesley and Louise Almond Philemon. He is survived by: his wife Christy McEntire Philemon of Mt. Holly; his sons, Daniel Wesley (Amelia) of Gastonia and William Martin Philemon of Charlotte; his grandsons, Isaac Wesley Philemon and Lucas Royce Philemon; and his sister Marilyn Whitley Curlee (Junior).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church, 1827 Dixon Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.
