He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel James McDaniel, Sr. and Joann Thomas McDaniel Belinski; and his grandson Calvin Williams McDaniel. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Foy McDaniel; his children, David Wilson McDaniel (Sarah) of Denver, CO and Elizabeth Anne McDaniel (Ben Fowler) of Gastonia; his grandsons, Elliott James McDaniel, Joel Talley McDaniel and Arthur Noel McDaniel-Fowler; and his siblings, Sylvia McDaniel Tennille (George) of Flat Rock, NC, Tom McDaniel (Kim) of Jamestown, NC and Wilson (Patti Foy).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to Pisgah ARP Church, 3600 S. Linwood Road, Gastonia, NC 28052 or to the Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepherds Way Drive, Dallas, NC 28034.
