With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ronald Joe Houston of Gastonia, North Carolina, born in Evansville, Indiana, who passed away on August 27, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Romaine Houston and Geneva Houston Watterson; his former wife Betty F. Houston; his siblings, Annette J. Reed and Sonny Houston; his stepsister Rosie Watterson; and his stepfather Paul Watterson.

He is survived by: his wife Faye Buchanan Houston; his daughter Rheta Houston Chambers (Lloyd); his grandchildren, Chambers (Danielle) and Kendyl Campbell (Connor); his great grandchild Stella Houston Campbell; and his stepbrother Jim Watterson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
