He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Vaughn and Willa Mae Royston Vaughn. He is survived by: his wife Nola "Jo" Panther Vaughn; his sons, Ron Vaughn, Jr. and Greg Vaughn (Margo); his grandchildren, Kelsey Abernathy (Justin) and Greg Vaughn, Jr.; his great grandchild Liam Abernathy; and his siblings, Jeff Vaughn (Sheryl), Polly Smith, Sherry Sparrow and Debra Gosnell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Levine Children's Hospital, 1000 Blythe Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
