He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Patterson; his parents, Ronald Patterson and Beatrice Patterson; and his brothers, Charles "Chuck" Patterson and Kevin Patterson.

He is survived by: his siblings, Patricia Hawkins, Tim, Keith and Tony Patterson.
