It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Thornburg of Gastonia, North Carolina, who passed away on July 17, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilmer Leroy and Katherine Rhyne Thornburg; and his grandson Frank Lee Thornburg. He is survived by: his grandson Ryan; his wife Lucinda Alexander Thornburg; his son Mark David Thornburg (Jane); his granddaughters, Jessica and Margaret (Daniel Fields); and his son Craig Steven Thornburg (Adrian).
The next Wednesday we started a new lunch tradition."The father-and-son tradition continued at home through Covid - they were back-door neighbors - then at the assisted living facility where Bob spent his last months.
