He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Denton and Dorothy Elizabeth Beaty Denton. He is survived by: his brothers, Clyde Denton (Linda), David Denton (Kim), Billy Joe Denton (Patti), Jimmy Denton (Becky), Freddie Denton (Nancy), Ronnie Denton (Fonda), Sammy Denton (Sharon) and Danny Denton (Julie); and his nephews, Blair Denton, Derek Denton, Bryan Denton, Joey Denton, Mickey Denton, Michael Denton and Allen Goodson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Road Church, 2315 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.
