It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Lee Wright of Gastonia, North Carolina, who passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Wright and Mildred Wright. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Mauney Wright; his daughters, Cathy Gaye Dawkins (Duane) and Leigh Ann Ellis (Matt); his brother Wade Wright (Sally); his grandchildren, Michael Culbertson (Jennifer), Emiliy Schrader (Noah), Clayton Dawkins (Gina), Noah Ellis and Owen Ellis; and his great grandchildren, Shyann Culbertson, Brooks Dawkins, Mason Suite, Jubilee Schrader, Eden Schrader and Saleh Schrader.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Maylo United Methodist Church (1900 Spencer Mountain Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054). Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
